All Saints Lutheran Church recently issued the following announcement.
“Life is not about age, about the length of years we manage to eke out of it. It is about aging, about living into the values offered in every stage of life. As E. M. Forster wrote, “We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”
― Joan D. Chittister, The Gift of Years: Growing Older Gracefully
Aging and preparing for death offer unique challenges and opportunities to live into our values, reflect the light and love of God, and participate in the eternal banquet. Join us, as we explore how to celebrate the last chapters of life and prepare for death. Please register as each forum includes lunch. There is no registration fee though donations are appreciated. Registration will close the Wednesday before each forum.
This forum, "Planning for the Last Chapters of Life: Independent Living, Assisted Living and Nursing Home Care, is sponsored by Assisted Living Made Simple and includes speakers, Rose Traub, Kathy Dzuris, and the Council on Aging as we explore those difficult decisions and the options available when discerning staying at home with help, transitioning to assisted living, or transitioning to a nursing home.
