City Of St. Cloud issued the following announcement on Feb 24.
Below is a recap of tonight’s City Council meeting.
The Council:
• Council voted to move forward with updates to the city’s impact fees, which are one-time charges established to recover costs of infrastructure and capital equipment needed to accommodate demands of new growth. The city’s impact fees are for police, fire, and parks and recreation services. Impact fees are kept in designated reserve accounts to fund those services.
• Held a final public hearing for an ordinance assigning a zoning of Planned Unit Development for Pine Grove Reserve, a 91.8-acre development located north of US 192 and east of Pine Grove Road.
• Approved a preliminary subdivision plan for Pine Grove Reserve, with 283 single-family houses.
• Held a first public hearing for an ordinance adopting the Evaluation and Appraisal Report based text amendments to the city’s Comprehensive Plan.
• Held a first public hearing on an ordinance establishing a moratorium on applications for communications towers. The City is in the process of updating its standards for communications towers, and the moratorium will give staff time to research and update the standards for future applications.
• Approved a water / wastewater service agreement for Trinity Place on the west side of Pine Grove Road, east of Nova Road.
• Recognized Giovanny Quero, wireless engineer in IT, as Employee of the Month for January.
• Heard a presentation from The Transition House Inc.
• Made the following appointments to boards and committees: Reappointed Dwight Loeding to the CRA board; appointed Nanette Douglas to the Planning Commission; reappointed Jeffrey Rivera, Maria Carney, Holly Wolfer, and Philip Lantry to the Planning Commission; reappointed Madie Zilke and Sasha Higgins to the Recreation Advisory Committee; reappointed Bill Femmer to the Tree Advisory Committee; reappointed David Welty, Gary Johndro, and Julian Gilmer to the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
• Noted that the next City Council meetings will be Thursday, March 10, and Thursday, March 24, both at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.
• Noted that City Council Workshop will be at 3 p.m. on March 17 in Council Chambers at City Hall.
• Issued proclamations in recognition of March for Meals Month, Irish American Heritage Month, Problem Gambling Awareness Month, and Engineers Week.
