City Of St. Cloud issued the following announcement on Feb 11.
Mayor Nathan Blackwell this evening presented a proclamation declaring Feb. 8, 2022 as David Ennis Day in the City of St. Cloud. "Davey" Ennis dedicated more than 30 years to serving the citizens of St. Cloud in various roles, including Scout leader, firefighter and Fire Marshal. He championed the use of residential fire sprinkler systems, and his successful efforts to get a sprinkler system donated to the Foster family was a key reason that firefighters were able to rescue everyone when a fire broke out at the house on Feb. 8, 2020.
Davey passed away last year, and the proclamation was presented to his son, Roy, who received it on behalf of his father, to a standing ovation from the near-capacity crowd at tonight's Council meeting.
