Eagle Creek Elementary School issued the following announcement on Nov. 29.
Eagle Creek Elementary students in second grade will attend a performance by Orlando Ballet on (Tuesday), December 14, 2021. It will be a virtual performance from The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. There is no cost for this special trip, which is provided for all second graders by the Orange County School Board and United Arts of Central Florida. This annual field trip is a part of our second grade music and dance curriculum.
Orlando Ballet will present The Nutcracker. Second grade students will explore many versions of this story from different countries, cultures and times in history. We are excited about this opportunity to see and hear the story told through classical music and dance. We will see beautiful costumes and scenery and learn about the skill, discipline and training involved in the art form of dance.
We have a chance to earn some money for our school by submitting pictures of our students who are dressed nicely and actively engaged in the concert experience. Each teacher will be taking pictures of the students that are media released. Prizes will be awarded for dressing up, actively participating, and showing good manners during the performance.
