County Of Osceola issued the following announcement on Nov. 18.
Osceola County Commissioner Cheryl Grieb is asking the community to help choose the names for a pair of American bald eagles nesting at Brownie Wise Park. The pair are currently watching over two eggs. Vote online at www.osceola.org/go/eagles.
For the potential name choices, Commissioner Grieb reached out to the families of Sergeant Sam Howard and Officer Matthew Baxter, two Kissimmee police officers slain in the line of duty in 2017. Names in consideration are “Starlight” and “Legend” for the female eagle and “Skyler” and “Unity” for the male.
