Pine Castle United Methodist Church issued the following announcement on Nov. 11.
Today, Veterans Day, we honor those who have served our nation.
It is the call of every Christian to defend the weak and fatherless, to uphold the cause of the poor and oppressed, to rescue the weak and the needy, and to deliver them from the hands of the wicked.
No matter where you’re from, we are all fellow citizens of Heaven. We thank those who have served to protect the freedoms we enjoy in the USA. And today we challenge everyone, ourselves included, to take up this mantle from Psalm 82
