Following a 235-acre land purchase by a Disney subsidiary at the end of 2019, fans of the popular theme park are hoping to see something special, but the park has not announced any plans.
A flurry of land purchases in the past two years has some thinking that the Orlando-area theme park might have some serious growth in mind. According to a report in the Orlando Business Journal, Compass Rose Corp., a Disney subsidiary, purchased land late last year near Walt Disney World resort for $6 million.
Another 965-acre parcel near Celebration was purchased for $23 million in 2018 along with 1,575 acres in Osceola County for $11 million in January.
Disney has so far not announced any growth plans related to the land purchases by its subsidiaries.
