Former Central Pointe Christian Academy standout Joel Core and his current team, the Stetson Hatters, suffered a 12-4 defeat in their NCAA Division I baseball contest against the South Florida Bulls on Tuesday, March 3, at 6 p.m.

USF Baseball Stadium hosted the teams for their first meeting of the season.

Core pitched three innings, allowing six earned runs, with two walks and two strikeouts.

The Hatters are scheduled to play next on Friday, March 6, at 1 p.m. against the Arkansas Razorbacks at Baum-Walker Stadium.
